Caring for Your Furry Familiars
Keep blooms out of reach of curious paws, as some flowers may not be pet-friendly if ingested. Even seemingly safe blooms can cause tummy upset and other issues in large quantities.
At Cult of Bloom, we avoid using flowers like Asiatic Lilies due to their extreme toxicity to cats.
In the event that your pet has ingested any blooms, closely monitor them and promptly seek guidance from your veterinarian for appropriate care.
Engage in a Daily Watering Rite
Bless your blooms with a daily offering of fresh water, topping up the vessel to the brim. All vase arrangements come with flower food-treated water, which includes a biocide to keep bacteria down. You won’t need to replace the water for three days.
On the third day, replace the water entirely rather than a top-up. If any of the more delicate blooms have faded, simply snip them out. This will help keep the arrangement fresh.
Shaded Sanctuary
Choose a cool spot for your arrangement, away from direct sunlight and heat.
Ethylene Ward
Avoid displaying flowers near ripening produce, as they release ethylene gas, which can shorten your arrangement’s vase life. Never place your blooms in the fridge!
Pruning Ceremony
A cut flower’s life span will vary depending on the type. There are some special blooms that may only last a day or two, while others undergo a beautiful transformation over time. Often, flower buds on the same stalk further down will wilt while newer buds above it are just getting going. So rather than pulling out the entire stem, you can gently pull off wilted petals as they fade to keep your arrangement looking its best through the week.
Cult of Bloom is a 100% floral foam-free studio. Instead, we design with chicken wire. Edges can sometimes be sharp, so take care when you’re working with the vase not to prick your fingers or get the chicken wire anywhere near your eyes.
